The world record for building an ice carousel was attempted on the ice of Lappajärvi over the weekend. Although the record remained an attempt, there was an excellent team spirit among the people of Talkoo.
An actor and an entrepreneur were also involved in the talk show spirit Ville Haapasalo. Haapasalo, who built his career in Russia, also shared his thoughts on the current situation in Ukraine.
Haapasalo’s mind is closely focused on the events in Ukraine. They were also referred to by the Ukrainian flag immortalized on the smaller carousel that rotated in connection with the record carousel.
– Unfortunately, the horrible war is still going on. A huge injustice is happening in Ukraine.
The war has cut off some of Haapasalo’s relations with Russia.
– Some of my friends are like that, and some of them I have been in contact with a lot. I also keep in close contact with my friends in Ukraine.
– It is really sad that some of my Russian friends have gone to prison because of their opinions, some have been expelled from the country and some are on a black list. I think I’m on the same list myself, but I’m not interested in that kind of ranking.
The answer to the question, whether Haapasalo could one day return to work in Russia, is succinct.
– Just the thought seems really far away.
Haapasalo has also just started a project related to Ukraine in its bakery in Puumala.
– Refugees from Ukraine work in the bakery. A few days ago, we started a project with them, where they make Ukrainian dishes. They are sold in Helsinki, and part of the proceeds go to Ukrainian children.
