Roeselare awards puts Freddy Maertens in the spotlight

No fewer than nine awards were handed out in a full factory building in Roeselare last night. Traditionally, the award Personality of the Year was most awaited. This year it was reserved for the care center after sexual violence. They opened their doors last year. Victims of sexual violence can go there day and night for full medical and psychological assistance after sexual offences.

In addition, there was a special tribute for Freddy Maertens who cycled an extraordinary list of achievements. Freddy also carries Roeselare in his heart. Maertens receives the lifetime achievement award for this.
