Kees Tol sees his new sponsored program Casino Royaal start with cautious figures on SBS 6. “Today is just as sad for him as it was for Wendy van Dijk yesterday.”
After the dramatic score of the Wendy van Dijk show Ministars on Friday night, SBS 6 sees its scores improve slightly on Saturday night. Gerard Ekdom attracted 665 thousand viewers (11 percent) with The Tribute: Battle of the Bands yesterday, after which the new Kees Tol show Casino Royaal attracted 492 thousand viewers (10 percent).
Sad day
Kees thus scored slightly more viewers than commercial competitor RTL 4, which managed to entertain 489 thousand viewers (10 percent) with the Friends of Amstel Live special of Renze Klamers talk show. Yet it is ‘just as sad a day’ for Kees today as it was for Wendy van Dijk yesterday, says former SBS 6 boss Tina Nijkamp.
However, Renze will not jump on the couch with happiness either, says Tina. “Next year I don’t think there will be a Friends of Amstel special on RTL 4 anymore. Last year it also scored low: 345 thousand viewers, then with Eva Jinek.”
Who is the Mole on #1
The big winner of the evening was Wie is de Mol with more than 2.6 million viewers (43 percent) on NPO 1. The channel held 1.5 million (29 percent) and 1 million people (19 percent) with Ik Departure. zapped to NPO 3 for MolTalk.
Where RTL 4 scored quite lousy with Renze at half past nine, Beau van Erven Dorens did better immediately before with Weet Ik Veel. That program was viewed by 919 thousand viewers (16 percent).
Brighter morning
All in all, they will be a little less down on SBS 6 today, despite Kees’ score, Tina concludes. “So a much happier morning than yesterday for John de Mol, Gerard Ekdom and team SBS 6.”
It mainly concerns the score of Gerard’s program. “App traffic will be a bit busier and more positive, and there will be a great deal of relief that at least this hasn’t flopped.”
