Ajax has said goodbye to Brazilian Giovanni. The midfielder signs a contract with Brazil’s Fluminense until the end of the season, with an option for another season.
Giovanni, whose official name is Manson Ribeiro, came to Amsterdam in the summer of 2020. At the time, he made the switch from the Brazilian Santos FC. The midfielder never played in the main force in Amsterdam and this season he also ended up on the reserve bench of Jong Ajax. Giovanni only made five appearances this season, all of them as a substitute. In total, Giovanni played 36 matches for Jong Ajax. He scored three goals in it.
Ajax is not the only North Holland club that Giovanni played for. In the winter break of the 2021/2022 season, he was rented out to SC Telstar for half a season. Also in Velsen-Zuid he could not break any pots and it remained with sixteen games.
