The cosmetics group L’Oréal has appointed a new managing director for its French business. Former Managing Director of L’Oréal Consumer France, Céline Brucker, has been promoted to Managing Director of L’Oréal France, which includes brands such as L’Oréal Paris, Garnier, Maybelline New York and others.
She took up her position on January 1, 2023, replacing Hervé Navellou, who had held the position since September 2015 and was promoted to President of L’Oréal France. Myriam Bekkar-Schneider, who has been Director of L’Oréal Luxe France since 2020, will take over Brucker’s position as Managing Director of Consumers.
“It fills me with pride and recognition to be appointed Managing Director of L’Oréal France at the beginning of 2023, succeeding Hervé Navellou,” Brucker said on LinkedIn, who is exceeding her previous position at L’Oréal held for six years.

“I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported me so far, in particular Alexis Perakis-Valat and JC Letellier, to the excellent management and to all the teams at L’Oréal Retail France, which I am leaving at the helm after six years of profound changes and confidence in the succession that Myriam Bekkar-Schneider will ensure, and I congratulate her on her appointment,” adds Brucker.
Prior to L’Oréal, Brucker served as a Senior Advisor for the Boston Consulting Group for four months after working in Chanel’s fragrance and beauty division for nearly three years.
Before Chanel, Brucker had already worked for L’Oréal for 15 years, first from 1997 to 1998 as Brand Manager Color Cosmetics for L’Oréal Paris at L’Oréal USA, then for seven and a half years in various positions at L’Oréal USA, most recently as Vice President Marketing Haircolor.
From 2006 to 2009, Brucker was Marketing Director for Garnier in Europe and after a brief stint as National Key Account Manager for Carrefour in France, Brucker worked as Managing Director for L’Oréal Paris from December 2009 to June 2013.
In her current position, the L’Oréal connoisseur “now wants to embrace the challenges that lie ahead with a desire to bring all of our consumers the beauty that moves the world forward,” Brucker said on LinkedIn.
In 2022, L’Oréal launched the €25 million investment fund ‘BOLD Female Founders’ to support start-ups founded by female entrepreneurs. The company also acquired US skincare brand Skinbetter Science and a year ago announced technological innovations designed to transform the hair coloring experience for both consumers at home and professionals in hair salons.
