The 78-year-old man who was seriously injured in an accident in his hometown of Steenbergen on Monday died of his injuries later that evening. The police has announced. The victim was riding a bicycle when he was hit by a bus at the T-junction of Halsterseweg and Stierenweg.
The police are still conducting an investigation. The traffic lights may not have worked properly.
The bus was driving on Halsterseweg and was coming from the direction of Oude Molen when the accident happened around a quarter to twelve in the morning. The cyclist drove on the Stierenweg. After the collision, he was taken to a hospital by air ambulance, where he eventually died.
