Two car brands left Russia at once in 2021. Wherein Smart has completed machine deliveries to the Russian market in 2019. And Chrysler deceived its admirers. Back in early 2021, the leaders of the concern claimed that “the brand was not going and is not going to leave the Russian market.”
But then the automakers decidedthat their products are not popular with Russians. This is especially noticeable against the backdrop of rising car prices in Russia and reduced sales. In January 2022, the number of car sales in Russia decreased by 3.7%. Such data was provided by the AEB. According to the Association of European Businesses, 91,662 cars were sold in Russia in January of the new year. This is 3,551 cars less than a year ago.
However, in the Russian market there is a deficit Lada cars, which will remain until the end of 2022. Against this background, they are increasing their sales in Russia Chinese automakers. Previously Opel left the Russian market and Chevrolet. But then both companies returned.
The next car loser in 2022 will be the Japanese Honda. In Russia, only the CR-V crossover is now left, in addition, dealers still have unsold Pilot cars. New deliveries are still possible in the first quarter of this year, but then the Japanese do not want to bring anything new.
