Felix Nmecha (22) is one of the starters at VfL Wolfsburg. While the attacking midfielder mostly played the role of joker in the previous season, he is now a regular. “The last time went very well, that makes me happy,” Nmecha says from the “table footballquoted. As the magazine reports, the DFB junior could stay with Lower Saxony beyond the planned end of the contract in 2024 due to a corresponding option. Accordingly, the working paper contains a clause for an automatic extension.
There is talk that the contract will be extended by a year should Nmecha play a certain number of games. According to reports, there are 25 games over 30 minutes. The option should apply to both the current and the coming season. Nmecha has made 14 appearances so far this season, nine of which he was on the pitch for at least half an hour. “I feel this confidence for the first time this season. I listen carefully, I always want to get better,” emphasized the native of Hamburg. Nmecha moved from Manchester City’s youth team to Wolfsburg on a free transfer last summer, where his brother Lukas (23) had also signed a few days earlier. Since then, things have gone uphill for Felix in terms of market value.
While Felix was valued at EUR 450,000 when he switched, he was again one of the winners in the latest Bundesliga update when he was upgraded by EUR 1 million to his personal best of EUR 3 million. The 1.9 meter tall attacker drew attention to himself with five goals that made him one of the best scorers at VfL. Felix said he wasn’t surprised by his haul. He continued: “I’ve had difficult times and I knew that if I didn’t lose my faith, things would get better. I want to score as many points as possible, so I don’t set myself any limits.”
