King Charles and Camilla, the Christmas card disappoints

The photo was taken on September 3, five days before Queen Elizabeth’s disappearance at Balmoral. That day, the then Prince of Wales, dutifully in tweedand his wife Camilla, wearing a hat decorated with a traditional pheasant feather, had gone to the Braemar Royal Highland Gathering, Olympic-style sporting competition. A choice, that of Scotland, certainly not due to a simple coincidence.

At a time when the threat of a referendum on Scotland’s independence is becoming increasingly real, the Royal Family is doing everything to send a message of unity and, above all, presence in the country. But this is not the only thing that worries Carlo: as monarch, he also inherited the title of from his mother defender of all faiths and the choice of a photo devoid of Christmas symbols, and therefore not festive at all, would be due precisely to not wanting to offend anyone.

As a pair, they have already sent as many as 750 to relatives, close friends, staff members of the royal residences, as well as heads of state and Commonwealth dignitaries.

Remembering Elizabeth at the Scottish Highland Games

Carlo is very attached to the Braemar Royal Highland Gathering.
