Several people were injured in an accident between two cars on Vaartweg near Hoogersmilde this afternoon. The victims were said to have been freed from their vehicles by the fire brigade and are still being treated in the ambulance.
A trauma helicopter with a Mobile Medical Team also landed. These are doctors who are flown in to provide specialist medical assistance quickly.
Both vehicles sustained significant damage. It is not yet clear how the accident happened.
