The Midwinter party has started again in De Rijp. After two corona years, the Rijpers were finally able to celebrate the anniversary edition of their party. The village has undergone a true metamorphosis for this and residents all walk around in historical clothing. “Everyone is happy, with music and dancing, all lights, great.”
The Midwinter Festival has now become a beautiful tradition. “It is an extremely important party for De Rijp. We are really putting ourselves on the map,” Mirjam Pieters of the Midwinterfeest De Rijp foundation tells media partner Alkmaar Central.
“Everyone works together and that creates great solidarity in the village.” Mayor Anja Schouten and children’s mayor Miya Scheltinga were honored to provide the official opening. Of course in traditional clothing.
