US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby referred to Russia’s use of Iranian drones in Ukraine. He believes that in return, Russia is “providing Iran with an unprecedented level of military and technical support that transforms their relationship into a full defense partnership.” Moscow and Tehran are considering launching a joint production of drones in Russia, according to US intelligence.
In return, according to the United States, Moscow plans to provide Iran with “advanced” equipment, helicopters, anti-aircraft systems and fighter jets. Kirby recalled that according to Washington, Iran was still considering selling “hundreds” of ballistic missiles to Russia.
Kirby has also indicated that the United States will sanction “three Russian-based entities” that are particularly active in “the acquisition and use of Iranian drones.”
