When Orange plays, part of Drenthe comes to a standstill

Go Holland go. The World Cup football fever continues to escalate. Many Drenthes will undoubtedly be sitting in front of the television tonight to see the Orange act in the quarterfinals of the World Cup in Qatar. The opponent is Argentina and that is no stranger. As a result of the competition, it is a bit quieter in our province.

Most futsal teams in Drenthe can simply watch the match at home or wherever, because football association KNVB has canceled all matches. Many futsal matches are played on Friday evenings. Because we do not see any possibilities to shift the starting times, all matches, with the exception of the honorary and first division, have been cancelled. The matches will be rescheduled,” the association said in a press release.

Nevertheless, there are sports competitions in several sports halls in Drenthe. Handball players and volleyball players have to appear on the scene at eight o’clock in many places. So please contact your association to make sure whether or not it will take place.

The performance of comedian Daniël Arends in theater Ogterop in Meppel has been adjusted. He’s giving two shows tonight. The first is early, the second late. It is possible to watch the second half in the theater before that late performance and the bar opens during an extension.

The other theaters in our province do not adjust the programming. They haven’t received any cancellations yet.
