Russia plans to launch 50-75 missiles annually with the beginning of the active stage of deployment of the orbital multi-satellite constellation “Sphere”. About it told Dmitry Rogozin, General Director of Roscosmos, congratulating the Russian cosmonauts on the ISS.
“We must be prepared to double the number of these launches 2-3 times when we start deploying a multi-satellite orbital constellation,” Rogozin said.
At the end of 2021, Russia launched 25 launch vehicles, returning to the number of launches in 2019, he added. In total, 76 trouble-free launches were made, 340 spacecraft were launched into orbit, the head of Roskosmos said.
Earlier, Roskosmos announced the first tests of a forced oxygen-hydrogen engine for the new upper stage of the Angara-A5 rocket. The general director of the state corporation Dmitry Rogozin explained that the use of a heavy-class oxygen-hydrogen upper stage (KHTK) will increase the carrying capacity of the launch vehicle, its capacity will exceed 30 tons.
