Even dogs and cats without masters and mistresses want to be given presents! This year, the animal shelter’s festively decorated Christmas mobile is on the road again during the Advent season – collecting donations.
“We launched the 2020 campaign when no events in the shelter were possible due to the Corona measures. It was so well received that we stuck with it,” explains Andrea Sicks, who has been working as an animal welfare consultant at the animal shelter for around 13 years.

She started the tour with her colleague Annika Tietze (33) on Wednesday in the parking lot of a Rewe supermarket in Mahlsdorf.
Starting today, the two will also be supported by their four-legged employees. Especially after breaking into the animal shelter last Monday, the joy of support is all the greater. Sicks: “It doesn’t matter whether it’s food or money donations. Every support is welcome.”

Craftsman Jens R. (43) also used his lunch break to hand over two full bags of dog food. “I have an Australian Shepard myself from a shelter. Unfortunately, he now has liver problems and needs special food. So I can still do something good with the supplies,” he says.
It continues on Thursday in Friedrichshain (Eldenaer Straße 42) from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and next week the mobile aid will stop again in Zehlendorf and Grunewald. www.tierschutz-berlin.de
