For Pascal Groß, a World Cup nomination would have been the fair reward from the point of view of his advisor Tolga Dirican from the agency “TDS SPORTS” – national coach Hansi Flick, however, relied on 26 other professionals in the final round in Qatar. The 31-year-old Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder had his say “Sky” interview now for his own disregard.
“Playing for the national team is my absolute lifelong dream. But I can’t do more than convince with good performances in the club. All the players involved deserve it. You are doing a very good job. However, I always have that glimmer of hope that if I perform well in the Premier League I will eventually get a chance. It is and will remain a dream of a lifetime,” said Groß.
Adviser Dirican explained in an interview with Transfermarkt in early November: “Pascal has been impressive in England for years with excellent performances in the best league in the world. I would wish that his achievements would also be recognized in Germany. In my opinion, Pascal deserved to go to Qatar for the World Cup with the German national team thanks to his performance, skills and humility.”
