It’s almost time for a new season, with lots of new driver combinations. While the top three teams have opted for continuity, the same cannot be said about the other teams. With a returning favorite and three rookies looking to make their mark in the next Formula 1 season. See below all F1 drivers from 2023.

Red Bull

Max Verstappen – #1

Of course, our two-time world champion can still be found on the Formula 1 grid. For now, he’s not going anywhere. The best F1 driver of the moment, Max Verstappen, has signed a contract with Red Bull until the end of 2028.

Sergio Perez – #11

The Mexican tire whisperer is still Max Verstappen’s teammate. Unfortunately, Pérez just fell short of second in the drivers’ championship, otherwise Red Bull would have put up a mighty one-two. Sergio Pérez has a contract with Red Bull until the end of 2024. Will the Red Bull F1 drivers perform as well again in 2023?

Ferrari

Charles Leclerc – #16

This Monegasque has driven a great season for Ferrari. Leclerc has therefore finished second in the drivers’ championship and appears to be a real asset to Ferrari. Leclerc has proven himself as a great driver last season, although his team sometimes let him down. Leclerc does have a contract with Ferrari until the end of 2024.

Carlos Sainz-#55

Ferrari has the same drivers for the third year in a row, so the Spaniard Carlos Sainz is also part of this. Last season it didn’t start the way Sainz wanted it to, he had a lot of bad luck and lacked speed compared to his teammate. Later Sainz seemed to have found a rhythm, he drove faster and faster and sometimes qualified even better than Leclerc. A very interesting duo. Carlos Sainz also has a contract with Ferrari until the end of 2014.

Mercedes

Lewis Hamilton – #44

The British seven-time world champion has not given up yet. Hamilton is desperate for his eighth world title, which will be a very difficult task. He won no fewer than zero races last season. It was a season to forget for Lewis Hamilton. Hamilton has a contract with Mercedes until the end of 2023.

George Russell #63

The other Briton has done surprisingly well last season. Russell has finished above his teammate and also above Carlos Sainz, while Ferrari’s car was clearly a lot more dominant. Last September, George Russel extended his contract, it would be a long-term contract, it is not yet clear when the contract will expire.

Alpine

Pierre Gasly – #10

After a mediocre season at Alpha Tauri, Pierre Gasly has said goodbye to his friends at Red Bull and Alpha Tauri. He has signed a multi-year contract with Alpine, it is not yet clear when the contract will expire.

Esteban Ocon – #31

Esteban Ocon has had a nice season. He finished above his (former) teammate, in a respectable eighth place. Alpine also finished higher in the constructors’ championship compared to rival McLaren. Esteban Ocon’s contract runs until the end of 2024.

McLaren

Lando Norris – #4

Lando Norris also had a good season at McLaren. The fact that they lost the constructors battle to rival Alpine was mainly due to Daniel Ricciardo. He had a bad season and was therefore forced to leave F1. Norris’s contract runs until the end of 2025.

Oscar Piasrti – TBA

The first rookie on the list, Oscar Piastri. Oscar Piastri is an Australian racing driver. In 2019 he became champion in the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0. From 2020, he will be part of the Renault Sport Academy. That year he also became champion in the FIA ​​Formula 3 championship. In 2021 he became champion in Formula 2. Piastri has signed a contract with McLaren until the end of 2024.

Alfa Romeo

Zhou Guanyu – #24

Zhou Guanyu has had a mediocre season, he has only managed to score six points. His teammate did a lot better. Zhou Guanyu has a contract with Alfa Romeo until the end of 2023.

Valtteri Bottas – #77

In his first year at Alfa Romeo, Bottas performed brilliantly. He has scored no less than 49 points (which is a lot by Alfa Romeo standards) and has secured a handsome 10th place in the drivers’ championship. Valtteri Bottas also has a contract with Alfa Romeo until the end of 2023.

Aston Martin

Fernando Alonso – #14

Two-time Spanish world champion Fernando Alonso replaces four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel. Sebastian Vettel retired this year, leaving a seat for Alonso. Fernando Alonso has signed a multi-year contract with Aston Martin, it is not yet clear when this contract will expire.

Lance Stroll–#18

The only remaining Canadian, Lance Stroll, still drives for the Aston Martin team. Stroll has had a mediocre season but the team is confident in his racing skills. Lance Stroll has a contract with Aston Martin until the end of 2023.

Hare

Kevin Magnussen – #20

Magnussen has had a pretty good season for Haas’s standards. He has finished 13th in the drivers’ championship and even managed to take his first pole position. He did have to say goodbye to Mick Schumacher. Kevin Magnussen’s contract runs until the end of 2023

Nico Hulkenberg – #27

Yuki Tsunoda – #22

Yuki Tsunoda has not had a strong season. He finished in 17th place, while his (former) teammate is 14th with almost twice as many points. However, Tsunoda has become a lot more mature and careful, which was also the intention of his anger management lessons. Yuki Tsunoda’s contract expires at the end of 2023.

Nyck de Vries – TBA

The second Dutch driver on the grid is none other than Nyck de Vries. In 2019 he became champion in Formula 2 and in season 2020/2021 world champion in Formula E. De Vries made his debut in Formula 1 as a substitute for Williams during the 2022 Italian Grand Prix, where he immediately delivered a great performance. Nyck de Vries’ contract also runs until the end of 2023.

Williams

Alex Albon – #23

Alexander Albon is a Thai-British racing driver. He was a member of the Red Bull Junior Team in 2012 and a member of the Lotus F1 Junior Team, the training program of the Lotus Formula 1 team, between 2013 and 2015. He also drove a full season for Red Bull, but it didn’t go as hoped. From 2022 he drove for the Williams team and will remain there until at least the end of 2023.

Logan Sargeant–TBA

Logan Hunter Sargeant is an American racing driver, who last competed in the FIA ​​Formula 2 Championship with Carlin. He will drive for Williams Racing in the 2023 Formula 1 World Championship after earning enough points to earn his superlicence. He has signed a one-year contract with Williams, so his contract runs until the end of 2023.
