A 26-year-old Belgian died in Valencia. That writes the Spanish newspaper ‘Levante’. The man in his twenties was hit when he crossed the road in a dangerous place, near some harbor pilots. A motorcyclist was unable to avoid the twenty-something.
The accident happened around 8 a.m. on Monday morning on Avenida Ingeniero Manuel Soto, near the port of Valencia. The Belgian in his twenties crossed the road as a pedestrian in a dangerous place. There he was caught at full speed by a motorcyclist who could no longer avoid him.
The newspaper ‘Levante’ writes that the 26-year-old Belgian of African descent was in critical condition immediately after the accident. He was resuscitated at the scene and then taken by ambulance to the city’s university hospital. There he died of his injuries in the afternoon.
The motorcyclist, a 43-year-old man, was also seriously injured in the accident. He ended up in La Fe Hospital in Valencia.
Police initially believed another car was involved in the accident. After an analysis and on the basis of statements from witnesses, this view was abandoned.
