Wales mourns the loss of a loyal fan!

As the association announced, there was a tragic death of a fan in Qatar. 62-year-old Kevin Davies died in an apartment in the World Cup host country on Friday. It’s supposed to be a natural cause of death.

The FA tweeted: “Our deepest condolences from the whole of the Football Association of Wales. Our thoughts are with Kevin’s family and friends at this sad time.”

Davies is said to have traveled to Qatar with his son to support the national team. He wasn’t in the stadium when he lost 2-0 to Iran on Friday and is said to have felt uncomfortable beforehand. He was one of around 2,500 Welsh fans who traveled to the Desert World Cup.

The Welsh Fan Embassy tweeted: “Sadly we have lost one of the Red Wall, our deepest condolences to his son here in Doha and his family back home in Wales.”

The British Embassy and the Football Association now want to help organize transport back to Wales together with the Qatari authorities. The association says: “The FAW is in contact with Kevin’s family to help in any way they can.”
