Between Tori and Lokita there is a mysterious bond. They have nothing else in the foreign country, Belgium, where they landed.
He, a child who escaped conviction for witchcraft, she, just a teenager, couldn’t be more brother and sister than this. They are not, however, for society and bureaucracy.
With a both rough and ruthless staging, the Dardenne brothers let out a cry of pain and an indictment. They do it by giving life to a wonderful family of choice which, regardless of blood ties, is capable of true acts of heroism.
But what is left to the viewer is an idea of the world divided into angels and monsters.
