OGC Nice has announced the early extension of Jean-Clair Todibo. The 22-year-old centre-back has signed with the Ligue 1 club for another year until 2027, it was announced on Sunday evening. The Frenchman was signed by FC Barcelona for 8.5 million euros in the summer of 2021, previously the ex-Schalke player had been on loan for Nice for six months. With a market value of 20 million euros, he is the third most valuable professional in coach Lucien Favre’s squad.
“I said I came to stay and I wasn’t wrong,” said Todibo, who was on loan for the Royal Blues in the second half of 2019/20. “The project was already very ambitious when I arrived and you can tell that we still have to take further steps. That strengthens me in my position. I’m having a lot of fun and I’m here to grow.” Todibo has made 77 appearances for the Côte d’Azur club (two goals).
