Norwegian tennis pro Casper Ruud started the ATP finals with a win. The 23-year-old defeated Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 in the opening game on Sunday (11/13/22).
Ruud converted his first match point after 1:51 hours. This year he had reached the final of both the French Open in Paris and the US Open in New York.

Auger-Aliassime was unable to build on his recent strong performances in Turin. The 22-year-old had won the tournaments in Florence, Antwerp and Basel and reached the semi-finals of the Masters 1000 tournament in Paris.
In the second game of the group in the evening (9 p.m.) the Spaniard Rafael Nadal and Taylor Fritz from the USA will face each other. Defending champion Alexander Zverev is missing at the end of the season of the eight best tennis professionals of the year because of his foot injury.
