Mobilepay has decided to close the Weshare application From 1 February 2023.
The reason given by Mobilepay is that Weshare is too expensive and very complicated to transfer to the Mobilepay application.
– Despite the fact that we tried to find viable ways to turn WeShare into a profitable one, it has not proven to be possible. WeShare does not generate revenue, and in its current form does not achieve activity levels that could lead to a profitable business, in the bulletin it is said.
The decision is solely Mobilepay’s and is not part of the merger with Norwegian mobile payment app Vipps.
Mobilepay reminds us that Weshare will operate normally until February 1. Registration of new users will be blocked after November 8.
Remember to delete the user account as well
Deleting the Weshare application from the phone does not delete your user account in the application, so you must delete the user account separately before deleting the application from your phone.
Weshare has been especially used for sharing expenses together with other users. The application has been able to mark a payment transaction and it has automatically calculated among the other members of the group how much the others owe.
The Mobilepay application does not have a fully equivalent function to the Weshare application.
