Second division soccer team Hamburger SV has prematurely extended the contract with Dutch professional Ludovit Reis until 2026. The club announced this on Sunday before the home game against Jahn Regensburg (1:30 p.m.).
He is “a prime example of the path we have taken to win players who can develop and make them better in our system,” says HSV board member Jonas Boldt, explaining the decision.
Reis himself feels “at home” in Hamburg, and his time at HSV has “enhanced him enormously as an athlete and as a person,” said the player.
The U21 national player of the Netherlands moved to the Elbe from the FC Barcelona second team last summer. In 55 competitive games, Reis has scored eight goals and set up four more.
