Climate activists are this afternoon climbed over the fences at the Schiphol site where private jets take off and land. The activists sat under the private jets to prevent them from taking off. Some activists even chained themselves to the aircraft. The news was sent as a push message by several media outlets.
Nikki stuck?
The celebrity friends of Nikkie Plessen will therefore be shocked. The RTL Boulevard star flies so often with her private jet that it is a miracle that she has not yet involved a pied-à-terre at Schiphol-East. She takes off back to Ibiza about every few days.
It’s inevitable that Nikkie’s phone was red hot this afternoon. Is her take off ruined while she was just sitting quietly sipping on her rosé? Did an angry climate activist drag her down the runway? Or worse, glued to it?
At the hockey
Fortunately, Nikkie was able to reassure her Dutch celebrities. She was just at hockey on this Saturday afternoon, you can read on her Instagram. “Saturday hockey,” she writes.
It’s a good thing Nikkie didn’t have a flight planned this afternoon. More than 500 protesters have tried to stop private jets, according to a Greenpeace spokesperson.
Under fire
Incidentally, Nikkie is being heavily criticized on Twitter today because of the frequent use of her private jet. That criticism is provoked by a photo that is shared in connection with the news about the Schiphol action. This shows how Nikkie and her good friend Fred van Leer toast while sitting in her private jet.
One Jeroen, for example, says: “The assholes can save the environment and the stars fly in private planes.”
And Liesbeth: “You can see that they have no children.”
When someone notices that Nikkie has no fewer than two, Liesbeth says: “That was meant to be cynical. I don’t understand how you can’t take the environment into account when you have children.”
