Viewers speculate: this is The Masked Singer’s first dropout | show

Like every season, the candidates, dressed in the most special suits, did their utmost to keep their true identities hidden. It was up to panel members Carlo Boszhard, Loretta Schrijver, Buddy Vedder and Gerard Joling to unmask the celebrities. And that was quite disappointing, the fairytale characters made it absolutely not easy for the foursome.

The joker started tonight with his own version of As it were. The jurors were impressed by the suit alone. Gerard Joling even suggested wearing the suit – with multiple heads – during a performance by the Toppers. The brain was cracking hard, but nobody on the panel came up with a concrete name. ,,Who is this now?” Carlo Boszhard calls out, but we don’t get an answer to that question for the time being, because the Joker was allowed to go one round further.

The witch, who came second and a cover of Don’t Cha didn’t make it any easier for the judges. Carlo bet on Anita Meijer, but the rest of the panel absolutely disagreed. Viewers are convinced that Miljuschka Witzenhausen is hidden in the suit, but the judges think of Katja Schuurman, Georgina Verbaan and Iris Hond.

Then it was the elephant’s turn. It gave so many different hints that it was almost impossible for the panel to guess who was hidden in the suit. From traveling around the world, to a jacuzzi and a cream cake with a Frisian flag: the leads went in all directions. Gerard Joling noticed that the beast made a lot of skating movements and must therefore be a skater, but Carlo was convinced that a football player is hidden in the suit.

Despite the fact that the next candidate, the penguin, is normally in colder climates, Loretta melted at the animal’s appearance. That also provided some distraction. Loretta Schrijver has no idea, but Carlo Boszhard says he almost certainly knows who it is and mentions the name of Elisa Schaap. If the penguin then says that it has no animal in its name, the whole panel is lost again. Viewers at home and the panel were again left in limbo, because the penguin also went through to the next round.

The costume that was allowed to close the show was that of the flamingo. Also with this character the gambling continues. The only name that the panel dares to pronounce unanimously is Bridget Maasland, but when the flamingo answers that she ‘not exactly’ works in the show industry, the judges no longer seem so sure. Nikkie Plessen, Froukje de Both and Loiza Lamers are named on the basis of the thin legs.

After all the speculation it was time for the group number. That should provide more clarity, but the panel quickly noticed that it hadn’t really helped. And so it was just guessing and naming various names. One thing had become clear to the audience in the room: the witch had to take off the mask and reveal herself.

That revelation turned out to be the surprise of the evening for the panel. Viewers turned out to be right: Miljuschka Witzenhausen was hidden in the suit of a witch. ,,I should have known this,” exclaimed Buddy Vedder. He has been working a lot with the TV chef lately. The other judges also cry out in surprise.

According to Witzenhausen, the hints clearly led to her. “Writing was a good hint. I’ve written a lot of cookbooks and I have my own magazine,” she says. “On top of that, I also wrote columns for years.” The TMF award that was hidden in the introduction movie was also a hint. Witzenhausen used to present that award show.

So viewers were right about this episode and can hardly believe that the judges had no idea who was hiding in the suit. ‘Those four panelists must have known that Miljuschka is the witch, there is no other way…,’ someone wrote on Twitter. ‘Exactly the one I thought,’ someone else replies.

The season kick-off attracted slightly fewer viewers this year than last year. Then the program, presented by Ruben Nicolai, was watched by almost 2.4 million viewers. The final was eventually seen by more than 2.5 million people.

Almost simultaneously with The Masked SingeMore than 1.6 million people watched it on Friday evening NOS News from 8 p.m. After the singing competition, that was the most watched program of the day. In third place in the SKO ratings list is 2 for 12, which attracted just over 1.2 million viewers to NPO 2.
