Mayor Jabbeke is not taking legal action for the time being: “State secretary de Moor is coming to Jabbeke”
Mayor Frank Casteleyn called Nicole de Moor, the State Secretary for Asylum and Migration. “She has apologized for the way in which communication with Jabbeke went,” said Mayor Casteleyn.
“We will not take legal action against the arrival of the asylum center for the time being, but I am not ruling out anything. On Monday we will visit the former site of the Civil Protection together. After that consultation, we will see how to proceed.”
On Wednesday, the core cabinet decided that there will be a temporary emergency shelter in Jabbeke, for vulnerable families with children, from 150 to 500 people.
