In October 2020, Ari Niemelä, 30, from Lahti, received an email extorting 200 euros worth of Bitcoins from him. “Since the company’s management has refused to take responsibility for its own mistakes, we unfortunately have to ask you to pay to keep your personal information safe,” reads the message of the blackmail message. According to the message, Niemelä’s personal information and patient reports will otherwise be published online.
