Alexander Lukashevich, Permanent Representative of Russia to the OSCE, explained the hype with the task of further military development by NATO of the territory of Ukraine around the expected “invasion” of the Russian Federation. He recalled that from the United States propaganda hype on this topic was deployed on January 31 in the UN Security Council. At the same time, the convening of the meeting was used only as a pretext for “another anti-Russian show.”

Lukashevich explained why such tactics are needed: “First of all, to justify the sabotage of the implementation of the Minsk agreements by the Ukrainian authorities. In addition, to provide an informational basis for the further military development of the territory of this country by NATO.”

In addition, the Russian diplomat continued, the United States and its allies want to justify their illegitimate, unilateral actions in the international economy, as well as use UN Security Council Resolution 2202 to achieve their goals.

The Russian Permanent Representative also expressed regret over the actions of Poland, which is chairing the OSCE in 2022, joined the “pumping” of Ukraine with lethal weapons. According to him, on January 30, a military transport aircraft with the first cargo arrived from Warsaw to Ukraine, a decision was approved on the supply of Molniya MANPADS, and the possibility of supplying drones was announced.

“Do such actions fit into the role assigned to the OSCE Chairmanship-in-Office? Not to mention the commitments made within our Organization to refrain from supplying lethal weapons to crisis regions,” Lukashevich asked questions, speaking at a meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council on February 3.

He also recalled the announced visit to Ukraine by the current chairman of the organization, Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau. As expected, he will arrive in Kiev on February 9. The politician is going to go to the Donbass, however, only to the part controlled by Kiev.

Providing military and political support to one of the parties to the conflict and ignoring the representatives of Donbass, according to Lukashevich, is not the best start in order to prove himself an “honest broker” in promoting a settlement. The Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation called on his Polish colleagues to think seriously about this topic, writes RIA News.
