A week after Frank Kramer was released as head coach at FC Schalke 04, the Bundesliga bottom team has still not presented a successor. It remains to be seen whether this will change at short notice on Wednesday, as originally thought.
On Wednesday morning it said in a “sky“-Report that the new trainer should ideally be “on the mat” for team training in the afternoon. But nothing will happen to that.
Because about an hour and a half before the start of training, when, according to “WAZ”, all the professionals had already arrived at the club premises, there are still no movements at the office to indicate that a new head coach will be on the lawn from 3 p.m.
As the TV broadcaster “Sky” previously reported, Thomas Reis is still the preferred solution for the Schalke club bosses. Since he still has an ongoing contract with league competitor VfL Bochum until the summer of 2023 and is formally only on leave from the district rival, the personnel issue has been dragging on for several days.
Actually, those responsible at FC Schalke wanted to meet their colleagues in Bochum for decisive negotiations on Tuesday. But that didn’t happen due to time constraints.
According to “Sky”, an important supervisory board meeting took place at VfL Bochum on Tuesday evening, which is why no more talks could be held with the royal blues in the Thomas Reis case at that time. As it goes on to say, all the questions that still need to be clarified are to be finally discussed on Wednesday. Will there be a message about this in the evening? Open!
Does FC Schalke pay a transfer fee for Reis?
Above all, the question of a possible transfer fee from VfL Bochum for its promotion coach from 2021 is still unresolved.
On the one hand, VfL is hoping for a corresponding compensation payment from Gelsenkirchen should Thomas Reis hire Schalke as the new head coach immediately.
On the other hand, the Knappen would logically take over the salary for Reis, which is currently still being paid by Bochum due to the current contract with VfL.
Official confirmation from Gelsenkirchen will only come when this point of contention has been resolved.
