The passenger ship ‘Cantika Express’ continues sailing while the fire consumes the ship in the south of the island country
At least 14 people have dead this Monday after the fire of the passenger ship ‘Cantika Express’ in the south of Indonesia, as reported by local authorities. “So far, the number of victims of the burning ship has increased to 14 people, of whom seven have been transferred to Kupang city,” said the head of the search and rescue office of the Kupang city, capital of the Indonesian province of East Nusa Tenggara.
Local authorities have confirmed that the search efforts will continue throughout Tuesday, while the burning ship continues to sail in the sea, so that the fire continues to burn the ship, reports the Indonesian agency Antara.
For now, 114 people from the ship have been successfully evacuated of the total of 240 that were in the ship.
