Radio broadcasters could submit their candidacy until April 27, 2022 to acquire a frequency package. The Flemish government had made a total of ten frequencies available.

On 15 July 2022, one frequency package was already allocated to Minerva vzw. That happened after years of wrangling and proceedings before the Council of State.

There were a total of nineteen files for the other nine frequency packages. For two frequency packages there was only one candidate, for the other frequency packages there were different candidates.

Now that the radio stations have their accreditation, they can apply for a broadcasting license from the Flemish Regulator for the Media (VRM). Once assigned, the radio stations can start broadcasting on their FM frequency.

The nine recognized radio stations are: Vrije Eeklose Radio Omroep (Aalter 107.4 FM), Stadsradio Antigoon (Antwerp 107.3 FM, Brassschaat 105.2 FM), Radio Uilenspiegel (Essen 105.5 FM, Wuustwezel 107.2 FM), Radio UNDR (Essen 107.5 FM, Kalmthout 107.9 FM , Wuustwezel 106.1 FM), Radio Tele Randstad (Hoeilaart 105.8 FM), Calipso (Tienen 105.7 FM), Radio Mid West-Limburg (Tongeren 106.6 FM), Radio PROS (Brakel 88.8 FM) and Studio Mi Amigo (Mol 100.4 FM).
