Arsenal defeat: Liverpool have their worst start to the season in 10 years

10 points after 10 matchdays

Liverpool have had their worst start to the Premier League season in ten years. At FC Arsenal, the team of coach Jürgen Klopp lost 2: 3 (1: 2) after an early deficit in an intense duel. For the Reds, who have won just two of their eight Premier League games so far, it was the third league game in a row without a win. After the home win, the Londoners took the lead again.

The Gunners took the lead in their own stadium after just one minute through Gabriel Martinelli. Liverpool were only briefly impressed. The Klopp team was evenly matched for long stretches in the Emirates Stadium and Darwin Núñez (34th minute) scored a well-deserved equalizer. However, England international Bukayo Saka (45+5) put the hosts back in front before the break.

In the second half, Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino (53rd) first equalized again. After about an hour, the hard-fought game had to be interrupted for a few minutes because Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus was lying motionless on the ground after a collision. The Brazilian was able to continue playing a short time later. Again Saka (76th) finally scored a penalty kick for Arsenal’s eighth win in the ninth Premier League match.
