On June 24, 1999, Steve Vissers (12) and his younger brother Sven go cycling on the cycle path next to the Ring, near the Antwerp Sportpaleis. Steve is hit by Danny Immens, a 29-year-old painter from Deurne, on his moped in search of a young victim.
