Slipknot released their new LP The End, So Far last Friday, September 30th. At least that’s what the album should be called. However, some fans who bought the album as a physical release were surprised: Some versions have the wrong title on the cover.

“Did anyone else make the vinyl with a sticker to cover a typographical error?” asked one fan on the Reddit platform. To do this, he uploaded a photo that shows the correct album title “The End, So Far” – but only on a sticker that has come off the cover. The actual cover says “The End For Now” instead.

Other fans wrote that the same error occurred on their copies as well. Apparently it doesn’t depend on the format either. Users reported that the faux pas appeared on various LP versions and also on cassette.

Slipknot singer Corey Taylor also commented on the error in an AMA Q&A on Reddit. The reason for the wrong title was therefore not with the band. “‘The End, So Far’ was the correct name,” Taylor replied. “Someone screwed up and didn’t ask us anymore.”

The End, So Far is the seventh album by the Iowa band. The album contains the singles “The Dying Song (Time to Sing)” and “Yen”, which were released in summer 2022, as well as the song “The Chapeltown Rag”, which was released in 2021. Some speculated the band might end because of the title, but Taylor vehemently dismissed a proposed breakup: “That couldn’t be further from the friggin’ truth, my friends.”
