The man who was found dead on Tuesday morning, September 27 in a yard on the Vereweg, between Oostwoud and Medemblik, is a 54-year-old man from Croatia.
This is reported by the police to NH Nieuws. After the discovery of the dead man, the detectives spent days investigating in and around the yard. That investigation has now revealed that he was killed, but it is still unclear why.
The police have investigated the background of the Croat, but he seems to have no contacts in the Netherlands. That is why the police are looking for people who are known to this 54-year-old man.
The police also hopes to gain more clarity about what happened by means of camera or dashcam images of people who have been in the vicinity of the Vereweg. This concerns Monday evening, September 26, up to and including the following day, Tuesday morning, September 27. Witnesses who saw something striking on those two days can also report to the police.
