“A little bit of work”: local residents about patching up in the street

It may look a bit like modern art, but most here don’t think it’s that beautiful. They would like a nice new top layer, but that is too expensive for the time being. The city council therefore opts for mastic asphalt as a temporary repair measure, so that the road does not break down further during the winter.

“Brielwerk”

“A bit of ‘brilliant’ as they say. I thought they would fix it up with a second coat too, but so they left it like this. It’s no fun looking out the window anymore. I get in as soon as I can the car and drive away,” said resident Addnaan Diwan Ali.

“We did not have the impression that the street was in such a bad condition,” says Luc Van Den Broucke. “Now I think it’s even worse than before. Maybe it will wear off a bit. Of course it would be better if there was a completely new layer. It would be nicer and better”.
