Permit not yet completed, but Mulder Sport gym threatens to leave

Since 1984, athletes and residents in Seghwaert have not known any better that Mulder Sport is located on the corner between Parkdreef and Vissendreef. That will most likely change.

A small-scale new construction project is planned on the site of the gym. The permit has not yet been finalized but could be before the end of the year.

Zoning plan needs to be changed

Owner of Mulder Sport Zoetermeer, Jos Clowting, laughs a little when we ask about the plans. “I don’t know anything officially yet,” he says. “I’m waiting because the zoning plan for this location has to be adjusted and the permit has not yet been finalized. I expect to hear more at the end of November, so I will only then look at any follow-up plans.”

Nine new-build homes

A developer plans to build nine town houses on the Mulder Sport site. The building on Parkdreef will then have to be demolished. “Whether Mulder Sport will stay in Zoetermeer or not, I really can’t say anything about that yet,” says Jos. “We therefore have to look for a new location in the city and now I have no idea where that could be. So just wait and see.”
