It’s really an indictment of football in general if such a demonstrably untalented and character questionable player would actually find a new AG in one of the top 20 leagues in the world after the last 3 seasons.
How do you come up with questionable character? I never realized he did anything. Away from the pitch, a quiet and very likeable fellow.
Meant his actions on the pitch. Swallows, acting units, provocations. Symbolically, an irregular penalty whistle, which he celebrates like a DFB Cup win, which was then withdrawn. Every BuLi fan knows quite a lot of such Selke moments
You’re 100% right, Selke is a clown who probably doesn’t even know how he became a professional.
For me, there are fewer unsympathetic players in the Bundesliga.
Yes, he hasn’t delivered as he should for several years, especially at his pay grade. I can understand somewhere that you find him unsympathetic, he’s disgusting on the pitch and the constant theatrical dropping annoys me too. As I said, off the pitch absolutely fine guy.
Insults like “clown” are totally unnecessary here in the forum.
Saying that he probably doesn’t know how he turned pro or that he shouldn’t find a club in the top 20 leagues just shows that you don’t know anything about football and just want to spread your hatred.
He scored 9 goals in 15 games for the U21 national team. In the Bundesliga it was enough for 34 goals, plus 20 assists. It was also a 10 goal season. A completely normal Bundesliga striker who deserves to play in the Bundesliga and if he brings his potential back onto the pitch he will continue to play well there.
I also don’t see how a person who plays football deserves such hatred.
It’s a shame what “became” of him. Selke actually had talent to be a solid BL striker. Somehow it broke up after Leipzig.
When he plays, he always gives it his all, but he seems to have completely lost his nose for goals.
In my opinion, however, he would work in a team that tends to use the wingers to close deals.
