The International Biathlon Union IBU decided to keep Russian and Belarusian athletes on the sidelines from World Cup competitions in the future.

According to the Championat website, the voting result was dull: only two representatives of the member countries supported the return of the Russians and Belarusians to the Games. Extending the ban received 39 votes and five abstained.

Tietoa was commented on with a firebrand by an Olympic champion in cross-country skiing and biathlon Anfisa Reztsovawho believes that the reasons for the ban lie elsewhere than Russia’s military operations.

– Just bastards, what else can I say. Just write it down. It seems that they simply fear our athletes as competitors because we are the strongest force. I would like them to see and feel their opponents, but apparently they are afraid of us, Reztsova reported, according to Ria Novosti.

Retztsova is a biathlon skier Daria Virolainen Mum. Recently, there have been speculations about the 33-year-old Russian national team athlete that he would like to defect to the Finnish team for next season.
