Champions League: Milan beat Zagreb – Mudryk scores for Donetsk

Dinamo missed next sensation

AC Milan achieved their first win of the new season in Group E of the Champions League with a 3-1 (2-1) win over Dinamo Zagreb. Frenchman Olivier Giroud (45th penalty), Alexis Saelemaekers (47th) and Tommaso Pobega (77th) scored for the Italian champions, who have four points on their account. Zagreb missed the second sensation after the surprising 1-0 win against Chelsea. The interim 1: 2 by Mislav Orsic (56th) was not enough.

Shakhtar Donetsk missed the second victory in the “premier class”. Just under a week after the coup in the 4-1 win at RB Leipzig, the top Ukrainian team couldn’t get past a 1-1 (1-1) draw against Celtic Glasgow in Warsaw on Wednesday. With four points, Donetsk remain in the running in Group F after two games. It was the first point for Celtic Glasgow.

Scotland took the lead after ten minutes with an own goal from Artem Bondarenko. Mykhaylo Mudryk, who had been courted by Bayer Leverkusen for a long time, equalized for Donetsk after around half an hour. He had already scored against Leipzig and prepared two goals. In the second half, Celtic were much closer to the second goal, but could not take advantage of good opportunities.
