BVB lacked that at RB Leipzig

Borussia Dortmund’s sports director Sebastian Kehl identified several deficits in the BVB team after the 0: 3 swatter against RB Leipzig and ex-coach Marco Rose.

“We were aware that Leipzig would show a high level of intensity under Marco Rose and play clearly and purposefully behind the chain. But we didn’t understand how to stop these strengths,” said the long-time Dortmund captain to the “Ruhr News”.

“There were too many easy ball losses, even in areas that hurt us,” Kehl criticized, adding: “We’re disappointed.”

BVB had shown a largely disappointing performance in the away game against the Saxons. It is no coincidence that the sport.de individual review of the game gave the Black and Yellows six grades of 5.

Willi Orban (6th), Dominik Szoboszlai (45th) and Amadou Haïdara (84th) had scored the goals for RB.

Sebastian Kehl: BVB missed that at RB Leipzig

“We could have put a bigger gap on our rivals and continued our run with a win. To be honest, we didn’t deserve that,” said Kehl.

The BVB manager and successor to Michael Zorc also referred to the numerous failures, especially in the offensive department.

“The tempo provided by the wingers was definitely something we missed. We don’t have to talk about it,” said Kehl.

BVB only fifth – but tied with FC Bayern

BVB started in Leipzig without Karim Adeyemi, Donyell Malen, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens and Thorgan Hazard. A total of eight professionals are currently absent due to injury or illness.

After six matchdays, Borussia have an underwhelming twelve points. The goal ratio is 8:7.

That’s currently enough for fifth place in the table – after all, tied on points with FC Bayern, who recently couldn’t win three times in a row.
