After a disappointing season at 1. FC Nürnberg, Mickaël Biron (28) wants to find his old form again in Turkey. The striker, who came to the club from RWDM Brussels last summer for a fee of 800,000 euros but failed to score in 13 appearances, is joining the Turkish second division club Batman Petrolspor on loan. To this end, the contract with FCN was extended until 2028 via an option.
“Mickaël’s move has been anything but satisfactory for all parties. He has never really gained a foothold in Nuremberg. We hope that he will do better in Turkey. We wish him all the best for his time in Batman,” said sports director Joti Chatzialexiou. While Biron played regularly at the start of the season, he was only granted three short appearances in the second half of the season. In total, he was on the pitch for an average of just 28 minutes in his 13 appearances.
Energie Cottbus extends with right-back Rorig
The future second division competitor FC Energie Cottbus has meanwhile extended the contract of Henry Rorig (26). The right-back came to the Lausitz team on a free transfer from VfL Osnabrück two years ago and played 72 games in which he contributed seven goals and eleven assists.
“Nowadays people like to say jokingly that he is a machine. When this machine really gets rolling with his quality, then Henry has an extreme impact on our game. At the end of the season we also saw what impulse Henry could give our game from the bench to really bring in the pressure and change the game again,” said coach Claus-Dieter Wollitz.
