At baseball games, the most enthusiastic spectators usually have flippers with them in case of balls flying into the stands. Many players throw balls into the stands to the young fans as a souvenir.
So did the MLB game between the Washington Nationals and the Oakland Athletics. The video captured how the Nationals player threw the ball to the crowd of children waiting for it in the stands.
The ball was going towards a girl’s flipper, until a man in a gray jersey caught the ball in front of the girl’s nose. Enthusiasm quickly turned to wonder. The man turned his back and calmly walked away from the children.

The cold trick has gained attention on social media. The video has gone viral.
– Who will take the ball from the little girl? author and activist Charlotte Clymer commented.
– My faith in humanity collapsed from one tweet, Fox News journalist Robert Lusetich wrote on Twitter.
The video doesn’t necessarily tell the whole truth about the event, because it cuts off immediately after the man’s booth.
It is unclear whether the man in the gray shirt caught the ball himself. According to some comments, he would have given it to his own daughter in the stands.
Some also claim that the group of children in question had already caught balls before. In the picture, at least one of the girls has a ball in her hand.
Eventually, the mother who shot the video contacted the Washington Nationals to get her daughter compensated Joey Menesis autographed ball. The MLB team responded to the tweet and said they would be in touch.
