The “Beverly Hills Cop” film series continues: Eddie Murphy will also take part in the fourth part as the quick-witted Axel Foley. The release date is not yet known.
Paramount produced the first three Beverly Hills Cop movies in the ’80s and ’90s. Netflix secured the rights to the continuation of the action series three years ago. Now the title of the new film has also been officially announced: “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley”. Eddie Murphy is supported by his colleagues Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Taylour Paige. The film is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, who also produced Top Gun (1986) and all five parts of Pirates of the Caribbean.
After a break: Gordon-Levitt and Murphy start again
Gordon-Levitt retired from public life for two years. In 2020 he announced a break to spend more time with his children. Now it should go on for him again: According to reports from “Deadline”, the actor has been working on several productions since the pandemic and has accepted several roles – including Jiminy Cricket in Disney’s “Pinocchio”. He is also said to have recently wrapped up filming on the drama Providence opposite Lily James.
Meanwhile, Murphy also took some time off from the public eye and other novel projects. However, not for family reasons, but to shoot the sequel to “The Prince from Zamunda: Coming to America” for Amazon. He will also appear in the film You People, a comedy he co-wrote with Jonah Hill, directed by Kenya Barris. The work is scheduled to be released on Netflix later this year. An official release date has not yet been announced.
