It seems that Olcay Gulsen’s TV career is slowly dying out. Her latest attempt, the fashion show Have Ik Wat Van Je Aan?, is a huge flop on Net5.
It is the biggest pitfall in television land: a switch to Talpa. Many celebrities have been brought in with nice talk and lucrative contracts to no time disillusioned sitting on the couch at home. Think, for example, of Merel Westrik, whose career was completely demolished by Linda de Mol. And Olcay Gulsen is no exception to the rule.
to cry
Olcay was successful at RTL for years as an expert in RTL Boulevard and presenter of Beter Laat Dan Nooit, but in 2019 she opted for a switch to Talpa. Everything she touches turns to ashes. Her latest attempt, the fashion program Have Ik Wat Van Je Aan?, is now also completely flopping.
Although Olcay had a much-discussed first Dutch celebrity guest with Maxime Meiland, only 90 thousand people watched the first broadcast on Net5 yesterday at half past eight. With that, the channel only managed to captivate 2 percent of all TV viewers at that time. To cry, of course.
What does Tina say?
Tina Nijkamp, former broadcaster boss of SBS 6, thinks it’s all very dramatic. “Drama. John de Mol’s new format got off to a dramatic start on Net5. Only 90 thousand viewers for Olcay’s I Have What About You? Not unexpected because: little or no promotion and fashion programs never really score.”
Is the poison cup empty for Net5 yet? No. “Then the new episode of Grenzeloos Verliefd attracted even fewer viewers, namely 82 thousand, and then another 18 thousand viewers for the Belgian Villa South Africa with K3 Kathleen. Hope they will soon start promotion on SBS 6, around the blocks of Today Inside, Hart and Show. Every day.”
Only then is there any chance of slightly better viewing figures for this completely new Net5 evening, according to Tina.
Matthijs disappoints

The PSV – Glasgow Rangers match was the number two at prime time with almost 1.4 million viewers (31 percent), right after NPO 2’s De Slimste Mens with more than 1.4 million. viewers (32 percent). The bronze is for RTL 4’s B&B Vol Liefde, which 767 thousand people (17 percent) watched.
The other most watched prime-time titles were NPO 2’s Nieuwsuur (609 thousand), SBS 6’s Today Inside (608 thousand) and NPO 1’s The Great British Bake Off (479 thousand). The Matthijs van Nieuwkerk show Summer School, this time with Hans Klok, got stuck at 396 thousand viewers (9 percent).
