Madonna’s daughter Lourdes “Lola” Leon released her first song “Lock&Key” under the stage name Lolahol on August 24. She co-produced the debut single with singer/producer Alexandra Drewchin aka Eartheater, who released the track through her Chemical X Records label.
“Lock&Key” is characterized by soft vocals, glassy synthesizers and electronic beats. Parallel to the release, Lola released the track along with a music video, also shot by Eartheater.
Speaking to family friend Debi Mazar in October, the 25-year-old model and dancer said her creative work is spontaneous. “I’ve always been a big house and techno fan, ever since I was young. I have no specific goal. I probably should. I have a very strong sense of style and I’m interested in aesthetics, so I like to bring all those parts of me into my projects,” says Lola.
Better a singer than an actress
She also revealed that she sees herself more as a singer and cannot currently imagine a career as an actress. “I don’t know what I think of acting yet. I think it’s about finding a role that isn’t too far removed from who I already am. To be honest, actors really annoy me and I can’t be around them. As for music, I can sing. I don’t care. Maybe it’s too close to my home,” she added in the conversation.
Madonna celebrates her new album “Finally Enough Love”
Meanwhile, Madonna released the remix album, “Finally Enough Love: 50 Number Ones,” a collection of 50 songs that have charted as number one singles on the US Billboard Dance Club Songs chart. The record was released on August 19th. To celebrate the release, she held a roller disco in New York City. As a DJ, she commissioned the drummer and hip-hop producer Questlove, who hung up other disco classics in addition to Madonna hits.
