The dogs attacked on January 28 in the urban-type settlement of Ugolnyye Kopi, in the courtyard of residential building No. 10 on Pervomayskaya Street. The girl, born in 2007, then went to the local district hospital with a bitten wound on her left leg. She was examined by a doctor and prescribed outpatient treatment.
“During the inspection, representatives of the supervisory agency will assess the completeness of the measures taken by the authorized bodies for the treatment of stray animals,” the Chukotka prosecutor’s office said in a statement.

The governor of Transbaikalia, Alexander Osipov, promised that the dogs would be “promptly removed” from the village, lighting would also be set up in it and an additional bus would be allocated for schoolchildren. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on negligence that caused the death of a person through negligence (part 2 of article 293 of the Criminal Code), its head Alexander Bastrykin instructed to transfer the case to the central office of the department.
