Thomas (37) from Lierde is a sales manager at Gucci. It wouldn’t have been close if Thomas hadn’t been in this series. On the first day of shooting he was allowed to fill in as a reserve candidate because someone else had to cancel. Thomas is the oldest of the last 10 candidates and is regularly teased about ‘bompa’. Jan (23), from Antwerp, is currently studying Commercial Sciences. Jan was almost out in the test where candidates had to call around to have someone come to the recordings with a chair. Jan’s father, who had convinced him to participate, was already in his pajamas and didn’t feel like getting off, forcing Jan almost to leave the competition. Jan has a very sporty side: he not only works at Basic fit and Decathlon, but recently won impressive silver at the Belgian bodybuilding championship. Will his strength give him extra advantage in the run-up to the final? But he sometimes suffers from stress, maybe that still gets him into trouble…

Margaux (23), from De Pinte, studies fashion design, having already completed her training as a teacher. She does gymnastics. Margaux is smart, sporty and stress resistant, three qualities that have taken her very far in the game. Something the other candidates also noticed, because many see Margaux as the perfect candidate to become the first female Homo universalis.

The 18-year-old dean from Nijlen is the youngest candidate of this season, but has already made it far. He studies physiotherapy, which presented an extra challenge for him during the recordings: he was the only candidate of the ten still having exams between the recordings.

Andreas (32), from Ghent, is a crew planner for an airline. Surprisingly, he’s had a hard time so far in tests in which he should have excelled. Andreas is a quizzer and likes to play billiards, but both tests almost killed him. Hopefully he will be presented with tests in the last days that he knows nothing about, so.

Melanie (31), also from Ghent, is an educator for children with a mental disability. She provided a first on ‘Homo universalis’, because Melanie is the first candidate who is heavily pregnant during her participation. If she wins, she will have to share the title with her child. Throughout the game she sometimes ended up in the danger zone with some assignments, but she always remained very calm.

Wout (27) is a developer-analyst at KU Leuven and lives in Kessel-lo. After a few games, he was immediately bombed into a major contender for the final win. Very often Wout was the first or second to finish an assignment. His composure is also a big advantage: Wout rarely shows any sign of stress. Only with the assignment with the toy dog ​​and batteries did the tension suddenly rise. In his spare time, Wout is a circus artist and loves climbing and parkour.

Dries (25) is a jailer in Merksplas, lives in Oud-Turnhout and also competes in arm wrestling. He also has some special world records to his name, such as mobile phone throwing. Dries is also very competitive and always appeared to be among the better and fastest in many assignments. An omen for the final?

Kaylie (26) lives in Sint-Andries and is a logistics employee at the Wit-Gele Kruis. She’s like a cat with nine lives – who’s already lost quite a few. Kaylie was in fact very often in the last two or three in tests. Her specialty has also been shown several times to fall clumsily during a test, but she always lands on her feet and makes it over the ditch with her heels.

the sporty one Yannick (29) from Westerlo is a PE teacher, plays football and likes to ski. He is expecting his second child soon. Until now there was not a single test where Yannick got into serious trouble and was in danger of being eliminated.
