“They don’t look at each other!”

Nick & Simon have appeared on television for the first time since the rumors of their breakup together. TV professor Tina Nijkamp studied it meticulously: “They don’t look at each other.”

After a flood of rumors about promiscuous behavior by Simon Keizer (photo: right), weekly magazine Privé announced at the beginning of this month that Nick & Simon would split up. According to Yvonne Coldeweijer, it is obvious that Nick Schilder no longer wants to be associated with Simon, who would be a ticking time bomb from a public point of view.

Nick & Simon on TV

Although Simon is deliberately spared by some show media, the rumors persist. For example, Evert Sankrediets says that it is generally known in the world that only one member of the duo is a nice lad and the other is not so nice at all. In the meantime, they keep their lips tight because of agreements with Eva Jinek.

For the first time since all the fuss in the media, Nick & Simon showed themselves on television last night. They were the main guest for an hour in the SBS 6 show I Want Your Song, the program of rapper Snelle. The recordings took place before the news of their alleged breakup leaked.

‘They don’t look at each other’

Tina Nijkamp, one of the most famous TV experts in the country, has studied the broadcast meticulously and she notices that Nick & Simon’s body language says a lot. “I really noticed that Nick and Simon never looked at each other in I Want Your Song. Not even in the clip,” she says.

There is no longer any doubt with Tina about what the gentlemen are going to say in Eva Jinek’s talk show. “Can reasonably predict the conversation with Eva Jinek: ‘Growing apart’.”

Bad ratings

Tina also notices that I Want Your Song also scored poorly with Nick & Simon and that says something about the popularity of the two, according to her. 296 thousand people watched the broadcast on SBS 6.

Tina: “In Volendam they will not hang the garlands today. Only 296 thousand viewers for the last episode of I Want Your Song. Although the program has scored higher than in recent weeks.”

Live the day

Nick & Simon had to choose a song in I Want Your Song to release as a single. They chose the song Leef De Dag and that is also an indication that their end as a duo is coming. The ambition seems to be completely gone: the song sounds like the lyricist of Songfestival-Sieneke was having a bad day.

In fact, Nick already indicated in the broadcast that he is no longer at a loss: “You want to take a certain route in your career towards increasingly serious music, but (…) what has increasingly been decisive for me lately is fun anyway and f*ck the gatekeepers and f*ck the credibility. This is what I feel like now.”

Video clip

A video clip of Leef De Dag has already been released. One thing is clear: there was no budget for the choreography.
